 BoI Unit for Industrial Linkage Development (BUILD), under Thailand Board of Investment (BoI), joins hands with Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association and Reed Tradex Company to give strong supports to Thai parts producers in the “Thailand Pavilion by BUILD ” in “METALEX 2009” to capture the huge trade opportunity worth billions of baht with procurement teams from 150 factories in Ota, Shinagawa, Yokohama and Kawasaki in Japan as well as 2,700 top-class exhibitors and over 55,000 industry professionals onsite.  According to the Fiscal Policy Office, Thailand's economy in the fourth quarter of 2009 will return to positive growth of 3-4 percent, and it is expected to grow by 3.3 percent in 2010, providing that the global and local economies have passed their lowest point. Such growth will be supported by government spending and “Thailand: Investing from Strength to Strength” infrastructure investment scheme with a Bt.300-billion budget, as part of the total investment worth Bt.1.43 trillion until 2012.
Private investment aims to increase 6.6 percent due mainly to the infrastructure programme. Exports would expand by 5.6 percent, while imports will advance 12.4 percent. Consequently, as a key growth engine for Thailand, the private consumption will rise by 4.2 percent, resulted from higher household income. The unemployment rate will decline to 1.3 percent, from 1.8 percent this year.
